COVID-19 poses an especially large risk for the vulnerable children of Zambia whose parents or guardians already have weakened immune systems due to illnesses like HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis. If it impacts the nation of Zambia, there will likely be another generation of children who are orphaned in the aftermath.

Will you join the Response Team to continue the mission to rescue the abandoned and orphaned child?

Bethel Nursery Home Expansion

After having to turn ten orphaned and abandoned babies away last year due to insufficient space, we felt like God gave us plans to expand the Bethel Nursery Home to double our care capacity from 20 to 40 babies this year. Just like God gave Noah plans to build the ark before the flood waters came, we believe that God gave us the plans to expand the Bethel Nursery Home before COVID-19 hit at the start of the year.

If this pandemic impacts Zambia the way it has in many other countries, there will likely be many more children in need of families and homes in the aftermath. Help us prepare to rescue more orphaned and abandoned babies this year .

Take a tour of the vision for the Bethel Nursery Home expansion! The orange building is the current three-bedroom Bethel Nursery Home where 20 babies and toddlers are being cared for and the green buildings are the current preschool classrooms. All of the blue buildings, the toddler playground, and the insaka (gazebo hut) are what we are in the process of building.

We can't wait to watch this project come to life through your generosity!

Special thanks to O'Brien Architects for the amazing animation!

COVID-19 Emergency Response Funds Needed

I Will Join the Response Team ›

We have already wired money to the ministry in Zambia for emergency stocking of essential food items for the My Father's House family homes, the Bethel Nursery Home, and the College-to-Career homes. Similar to what we have experienced in the U.S., there is a rush to stockpile the usual consumable household items in Zambia right now. The supply chain in this developing country is much more fragile than in the U.S., which could make access to daily consumables extremely challenging.

The immediate emergency needs that we have total $20,000.
This figure will be updated as funds are received or needs change.

A Word of Encouragement

In the midst of so much uncertainty, be encouraged. We know where our hope comes from. Our hope is in the unchanging, unshakable love and promises of God. You and I know what it takes to bring transformational hope in the midst of a global pandemic–bold faith and meaningful action to care for those who need it most.

You stepped into the middle of the HIV/AIDS global pandemic and the resulting orphan crisis and responded to God's call to care for orphans who were left without a hope and future. We can testify that God is ever-present in the midst of pandemics rescuing, raising, and restoring hope to those who are affected.
