WHAT IS ORPHAN SUNDAY?
An internationally recognized Sunday, fixed on a permanent date (First Sunday in October) on the Christian Church calendar when the worship, teaching, preaching and giving are focused on the call of the Church to “look after” the orphan and the body of Christ is mobilized to love and action.

Orphan Sunday Poster Series:
Pray | Defend | Provide | Jesus Loves

Mission: Engage the global Christian Church in the call to “look after” the orphans of the world with one voice and with a focused and collective effort that demonstrates the love of Christ to the orphans and the world.

Goals: Educate the Church about the plight of the orphan.% Engage the Church in a sustained, compassionate and comprehensive response to “look after” the orphans.

Unite the Church in purpose and intent with a focused effort that will become a global movement.

Direct the resources of the Church to specific Christian ministries/projects that are transforming the lives of orphans and their communities in the name of Jesus Christ.
Purpose: Orphan Sunday is a program for the Christian church. However, it is not intended to benefit any one particular church or ministry to orphans and vulnerable children. As such, churches are encouraged to work with their preferred relief and development, child evangelism, adoption and medical ministries as well as their own or other denominational or Para-church organizations whom they believe are serving the orphan and their communities in the name of Jesus Christ.
